Literature Text

Verse 1: “Doing drugs is bad”
says the man who flies high
with a joint in his hand . “Don't drink” says the cop
Yet he spends his time
A drunk and wasted man.
“Save yourself till Marriage”
My teacher says
But she has an unwed man
waiting in her bed.

Chorus:
I'm going to hide away
until the world makes sense
or until hypocrites cease to exist.
I don’t wanna walk side by side
With people who
Talk about morals and honesty
And then do the opposite,
Of what they’re preaching to me.

Verse 2:
The little old lady in church
A Bible by her side
Is the biggest gossip ever seen
And The term “forever”
Isn’t as long as it used to be
The morals that we were founded on
Have been tossed in a pyre
Common goodness and decency
Have been burned in a fire.

Chorus:
I'm going to hide away
until the world makes sense
or until hypocrites cease to exist.
I don’t wanna walk side by side
With people who
Talk about morals and honesty
And then do the opposite,
Of what they’re preaching to me.

Its warped to think its ok
For an unborn baby to die
So the teenage mother who made the choice
Can then move on with her own life
I shouldnt expect perfection
In a world full of sin
But I cant stop scratching my head
When we do the same stuff over again

I’m gonna hide away
Until the world make sense
or until hypocrisy doesn’t exist
the way its looking now
It seems I’m gonna be hiding
For a long long while.
My lovely friend Shalla took one of my poems and turned it into a song.
I wish I had the original poem still :(
Thanks Shalla, for giving me permission to upload it!
